Windows installer files

I have been on the MS knowledge base and the answer they have there does not
pertain to my issue (roaming profiles). After installing a 3rd party
product, if I launch a MS VB 6 compiled application, it starts to launch the
setup files for that 3rd party product. It is only when launching any VB 6
compiled app that this happens. We have VB 4 apps that this does not effect.
What is causing this to happen. I have also sent this to the 3rd party
softwares developers to look into and they gave me the roaming profile
answer. We do not use roaming profiles and we are on Windows 2000 with
Office 2000. Could someone please help?
