Roaming Profiles are not keeping settings when Changed by the user

we have a client with 30+ users. everyone has a roaming profile due to
Terminal services and remote access. For most users this si not an issue
because they do not make any changes and sit at the same PC. however, a few
Power Users that do make changes such as deleting files, favorites things of
that nature they reappear the next day as if they were never deleted. It is
my understanding that a roaming profile si supposed to keep it's settings
when this is done. I have been stuck removing files manually. I have to
remove them from thier local machine profile, the stored profile location for
their roaming and the terminal server profile. can someone help me
understand this adn what I may need to do in order to correct this.

thank you.

If your users use roaming profiles, and TS, you should definitely specify TS
profile paths in each user's ADUC properties. Don't mix & match normal and
TS profiles - it will cause problems.

The user's local workstation rights don't have any bearing on changes made
to a profile - limited users have rights to do all that.
I'd hope your TS users don't have anything other than 'user' rights on the
server!

Yep.

1. The TS profile path thing is really important - set up another share for
TS profiles. Don't let them touch the normal ones.
2. Download & install the User Profile Hive Cleanup tool on all workstations
& on the TS box.
3. Make sure you're using Folder Redirection via group policy....all the
profiles should be *tiny*.
