Windows Installer... again

Using WinXP 2002 Service Pack 2.
Last year, every few minutes, for no reason at all, the Windows Installer
would start and ask for the Roxio Creator (sometimes ask to install Napster).
I had to Cancel it twice before recovering.
Recently, I automatically installed the WinXP WFM patch.
Since then, I am getting the famoust Windows Installer, requiring to Cancel
twice.
What really surprises me is that if I use Windows Explorer to drag a file
from one folder to another, Windows Installer fires up!
It seems that any application that moves files around, starts up Windows
Installer.
I downloaded the Installer Cleanup Utility but did nothing for me.
I see many forum visitors are reporting such problem but what is the solution?
