|Hmmm, I scan images every day. I don't have WIA. I even have the Still Image
|Service disabled and am still able to successfully scan images every day. As
|far as I know, WIA is a function within WindowsME, not Windows 2000.
|
|If you're running Windows 2000 you don't need, nor do you want, WIA.

Not only that, but I have found that on WinXP you need to disable WIA in order
to get some scanners to work at all - it appears to sometimes conflict with
the drivers that are installed along with the scanner software.
I, too, have Win2k, and no WIA - and scanners/cameras, etc. work just fine.
Most have TWAIN drivers, which is what almost everyone used (and still do)
before Microsoft came up with WIA.
