Windows Image & Fax viewer problem

Hi!

I don't know how it happened or even when it happened, but all of a
sudden the Windows Image & Fax viewer refused to work. Alongwith that
went the capability to view slideshow and thumbnails in Explorer.
Nothing happens when I double-click any image file, I'm not able to
view slideshow or thumbnails. I can't launch the Image & Fax Viewer.

I don't think this is a standalone program. Does anyone know of any
fix?

Try re-registering the applicable dll

Start\Run\ type, or copy and paste from here, regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll
