When I first installed XP-home, I attempeted to load and
use the driver for my HP 1120C printer. I recieved a
Window help message tellin me Windows could not find a
file & did I want to find it. I subsequently found the
drive is incompatable with XP and used another printer.
However I have not been able to remove the message even
though I have removed the driver. Anyone have any
suggestions?

thanks

Have you tried :
Right click My Computer & choose Properties.
Click Hardware Tab & click Device Manager.
Click Device manager View Menu and choose 'Show hidden devices'.
Expand Printers.
If the 'old' printer is still there, uninstall it.

If you don't see it there, you might browse through the non-plug & play
devices to see if it's showing up there.

One other thing you can look at:
Start > Run > Enter : msconfig & click OK
Browse through the item in Startup Tab - maybe some old HP software? If you
see something, Check Add/Remove Programs and see if you can uninstall it. If
you don't see an uninstall, you can disable it in Startup Tab. If you do
this, you will see a message box about disabled items when you boot XP -
there is a checkbox to stop it displaying.
