Somehow my original windows games that came with the computer (solitaire,
pinball, minesweeper, etc.) have gone missing. How would I go about
re-installing those games?

Settings>control panel>Add Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows
Components>Accessories & Utilities>Games.

Note you may need to "uninstall" Games first buy unchecking the box,
clicking okay and letting Windows do it's clean up before you reinstall the
games.

.
they are on your windows xp CD, you'll have to reinstall
them.

They reside on the hard drive as "system" files, Max. No need to use the
procedure you're talking about. Neil posted the correct information.
