Windows FW in XP with SP2

Hi,

We have one application which open the Ports no: 5900 to connect with
another server to get the data.
Accoording to out company policy we have disabled firewall on all XP with
SP2 machine. When I run the application ( when firewall is disabled ), I am
not getting any data in application

When I turn on the FW, and restart the application, I am getting all the data

Is it something weird ?
I tried to find out on web but didn't find anything. Please help

Thanks,

Maybe it is not so weird. Talk to the System Administrator or
the IT Manager. It is possible to turn off the firewall and still
block the user from connecting to the Ethernet under policies.
