Why has my Windows ftp stopped working? After months of using it
successfully to add to or change my website all it tells me now is INTERNET
EXPLORER CANNOT DISPLAY THIS WEBPAGE. Anyone got any ideas why the change.
I've disabled my antivirus program and Windows firewall but without any
improvement. Grateful for any help.

Perhaps corrupt files in the IE cache or %TEMP% folders. cleanmgr.exe will
clear those.

The fact that you are referring to an error that itself refers to
Internet Explorer makes me say that you are not using FTP, you're using
IE. It may or may not use FTP.exe in the backgroud. That I can't
say, but I'd first try the command line ftp, get away from IE.

Start-> run -> ftp.exe
But you'll have to know how to use it, and ftp.exe is not user friendly.

If you want, try downloading filezilla and set that up. Its a GUI
interface and does not use IE. I find it quite useful for sending
folders and files in bulk to my website.
