Windows Freezing up

When I am using my computer whether on the internet or not the screen keeps
freezing up and I can't do anything except restart my computer.Can anybody
help.

Let's be a little bit more specific. For instance, what are
details of the major components of the computer, esp. installed
RAM, CPU model, HD, video display adapter, etc. And what apps
are running when the computer freezes.

What happens when you do ALT-CTRL-DEL? Do you get a window offerning things
to do like Task Manager?

Open Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Event Viewer|Application.
There you look for the cause.
Scan your system with latest virus definitioned antivirus,spybot,search
and destroy,CWShredder as well as with adaware.Run all the latest
versions in safe mode.Update all the drivers.
