Got a brand new pc about a month ago. since i have had it i have had problems
with my computer freezing. i will be working away and then all of a sudden my
mouse won't move none of the keys respond my music is frozen too. To start
with we thought it was outlook because i had a reminder set to check the
post. Have got all updates for office xp and now the problem has changed
slightly as it does not seem to be anything to do with office. i have no
reminders set and it will just restart even if i am not doing anything. am
using windows xp pro sp2. my supplier recommended using msconfig under start
and run, however i am not sure whether there is any other way as i do not
really know what i am looking for in there. If anyone could help i would
really appreciate it.

I've been having the same problem. You might find it helpful to check my
posts and the replies before you do anything drastic. Note that I spent
almost three hours with Windows XP technical support and they couldn't figure
it out either. Do check your VGA card and drivers for to ensure that they are
"Windows XP Logo Tested." I think, this may be my problem.

PLEASE - do post back if you figure out what the probblem is!

SHAWN,

i have recently turned off my auto restart setting and have yet to have a
problem.
if you go to the control panel > system > Advanced > startup and recovery
'settings'
and then un tick automatically restart.

hopefully this can cure your problems too.

just wrote all this and just hope it don't do it again.

ok so far anyways
