Windows freezes when saving to network or printing

Hi there
I am hoping somebody can help me with this problem - I have a computer
which is being used by an architect using Autocad.

Sometimes when he prints, or saves items onto the network the computer
freezes and needs to be rebooted.

I have tried
- reinstalling everything
- updating the network driver
- installing the latest autocad service pack
- checking for spyware and viruses
- running a memory check

None of these has had any effect. The problem occurs erratically.

Due to the nature of the work, deadlines are extremely important and
so this is becoming a huge issue.

What other things can I do to try and figure out the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Not using Norton, are you?

Also might want to check this:http://mylogon.net/support/psave
-although it more often causes hesitancy or erratic LAN behaviour than
freezing.

Thanks a lot for your help. I am using AVG, not Norton, and it doesn't
seem to be that network power saving issue. I'd really appreciate it
if you have any more ideas?

Is this a new issue where printing has previously worked ? How much
memory does the PC have available ? Does the PC participate in a
Domain ? Checked the integrity of the network share drive(s)?

First thing I'd do (After checking above ) is replace the Network card.
