Whenever I try to get into my Windows Firewall settings (because things are
downloading abnormally slow I think this is why) the error 'Due to an
unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings.'

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Go to services in control panel>administrative tools and check the status of
"Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)". It should be set to
automatic and if it is stopped try to start it from there. Perhaps you have
been invaded by something nasty if you cannot start that service. Do a full
virus & adware scan.
