Help!!!!

Problem #1: I am running XP Pro and have tried to setup "Turn On Automatic
Updates"...I click apply and all is fine. However, as soon as I shut down
and re-start the computer, the setting goes back to "Turn Off Automatic
Updates"....Any ideas?

Problem #2: I go to turn on Windows Firewall and it is always grayed
out....it does give me a message initially saying that a service needs to be
started/enabled (ICSI???) and do I want to start up the service? I say yes,
but the Windows Firewall settings remain grayed out. Again, any ideas?

Thanks in advance
