Windows File Protection error message with Acrobat

Scott

When I try to scan a file with Adobe Acrobat 6.0, I
always get a "Windows File Protection" error message
saying that files required for Windows have been replaced
by unrecognized versions. It prompts me to insert the
Windows XP Home Edition CD, which I can't do since it
came installed on the laptop. I've run Norton WinDoctor,
and I have installed all the updates to both XP and
Acrobat, but I still get this message -- and only when
I'm using Acrobat. Anyone else have a similar problem or
suggested solution?

Some oem vendors include the i386 folder on the harddrive.
Try running SFC /SCANNOW from the cmd prompt and see if is able
to find the source and / or dllcache

Thanks. Yes, the i386 folder is on my hard drive, but
the error message dialogue box only prompts me to insert
the CD -- it doesn't allow me to browse the hard drive.
Hmmm.
