Windows Fax query

Hi all,

I have an ADSL connection and I am aware that it is impossible to set up
Windows fax unless you have a standard 'telephone line' connection.

My computer has a standard modem port in addition to the port I use to
connect my ADSL cable. If I plug in my standard modem cable and connect it
to the phone line, would it then be possible to set-up Windows Fax on this
computer?

I am not very up to scratch on these kind of things, so if I am barking up
the wrong tree could someone suggest another way of making this work if it
is at all possible?

Many thanks in advance.

With some DSL connections you can obtain a DSL line filter suitable for
connecting a standard analog voice line to the DSL line and can then connect
an analog fax modem to that line. That would work.

Gee, why not just answer the OP's question? He/she can
connect the modem to the (analog) phone line and use the
XP fax facilities.

How about I just rely on you to post corrections to the posts I misread? At
5 AM I thought the question was about faxing over ADSL.
Thank you for your polite correction.
