when my computer fineshes booting it dials my internet connection straight away,how can i stop this
also after about a minute i get a error message saying winows explorer has a problem and needs to clos
any ideas?

Tick "Never dial a Connection"/Apply/OK

Has you PC always dialled your Internet connection straight away like this?
If not, it sounds like you may have a virus. Make sure your AV is up to date
and run a full system scan, run a trojan / worm tool as well.
Theres a great one called stinger available for download. Just do a search
on google.

Try removing your internet connection and all related
settings and files (especially if the modem installation
involved a setup disk), then reestablishing that
connection. If this fails, I'd use System Restore to go
back to a while before you encountered this problem.

Open Services.msc applet and stop/disable the Remote Access Auto Connection manager service. This service is used by many programs to automatically dial to the internet. The program, in your case may be a spyware as well. Run a full system scan using an AV and with Ad-Aware.
