windows explorer

When i open a folder containing a variety of movie files in "My
Documents" from the desktop icon, I get the message "windows explorer
has encountered a problem and needs to close, soory for any
inconvenience caused"
The following is offered as more details of the problem.

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: xvid.dll

I have ran, adware away, spybot, and mcafee 8. all updated and my machine is
clean.

I am running microsoft windows xp and have installed SP 2
