Windows Explorer Views

I have checked the box "Remember each folder's view settings" under "Folder
Options", but when I reopen a folder it is back to the default view. I
would like some folders to open with "Thumbnails" and the rest with
"Details".

Have you clicked on the "Apply to all folders" option?

The problem with "Apply to all folders" is it does just that. I just want
it to apply to some folders.

Then you have to individually set each of those folders.

Your problem may be the number of folder views that XP remembers by
default. I believe it's 400. If you have more than that you will
need to check out this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813711/en-us

According to the article this was fixed in Service Pack 2.
Are you current with your service packs and updates?

I have changed the number of folders, per the article you recommended, to
10000, and still haven't solved the problem.

Sorry. If that didn't work. I don't have any other ideas.
