Windows explorer uses 100 cpu when opening folder

Does anyone have any idea to solve this?

When I open a folder Windows explorer uses 100% cpu and does not display the
folder contents. I then need to kill the explorer process. This happens
regardless of the contents of the folder, ie: can be MPG, AVI, JPG or simply
subfolders.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition, English Edition, SP2

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

Click start/run, type msconfig and click ok. Go to the services tab. Uncheck
the line that loads Windows Image Acquisition. Click apply/ok and reboot.
Does this help?
