Windows Explorer starts when starting computer

Although not an operating problem, it's annoying to have Windows Explorer
start and stay on screen whenever I start my computer. I have temporarily
gotten around this by using a "custom" start-up. How can I edit the start-up
program(s) to get rid of this annoyance and still use the normal "full"
start-up?

RUN >> Type: msconfig Click OK and on the Opening window click on the
StartUp Tab and there uncheck the Window explorer entry from the start up
programs.

Thanks for the info, but I've already tried that. Not only is Windows
Explorer NOT listed, but the only way I can get the OS to start without
Explorer is to uncheck "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run".
Seems like there's something deeper I can't get at because I don't know how
to get there. Help!

Hi Serg,
Right Click on your IE Icon on your Desktop and select Properties from the
Sub-Menu on the IE window Click the Connection Tab and select the Never dail
up Radio Button Click OK/Apply and Reboot, hope this will cure the issue.
Please let us know

What folder is open when Windows Explorer appears at start up?

Go to Control Panel/Folder Options. In Folder Options, select the View Tab and make sure that the "Restore previous folder at Windows logon" is not selected.

Post back with the results.
