Windows Explorer Search Function Not Working

Note: This is WINDOWS explorer search problem, NOT an
INTERNET Explorer search.

Our windows explorer search function either freezes or
takes an inordinate amount of time to search the C: drive
for files. We get an "application not responding"
message during the time it is hung up which sometimes
eventually clears and sometimes does not.

Have you recently installed the .NET framework on this machine? This KB
