Windows Explorer Opening on Startup

M

Mike

For about a week now, whenever I startup windows, or log
on, Windows Explorer (My Computer) opens automatically.

Any way I can stop that happening?

Thanks

Mike, check here. Using Regedit, change the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENT
VERSION\WINLOGON
Change USERINIT from
C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe,c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe
to
C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe, Compliments of Frank Whitman

Thanks, Barry, but...
before I start playing around with the registry, does it
make a difference which folder it's opening? What I mean
is that it's not opening System32 at all but C:\Program
Files\Common.

Will your solution solve that as well?
