Windows Explorer Not Responding

I get this error message often, including every time I try to run Search
Companion. Sometimes upon rebooting the task bar won't load and I have to
manually shut down and start over, which I also think is an Explorer error.
I've run Norten and Windows Defender scans. Any ideas? Thx much.

Let's start trying to repair Search Companion. For this task, Start > Run
and type in

%windir%\inf

Locate the file "srchasst.inf", right click on it and choose "Install". You
may need XP CD. When done, restart Windows, and see if the issue gets
appearing.
