Windows Explorer message

I installed McAfee internet security suite yesterday and
the PC now takes several minutes to boot up and get into
Windows.
I can live with this but when I try to access My
Documents or even look at C: drive for programmes I get
an error message sa6ying that Windows Explorer isn't
working. I cannot access any files or programmes (except
my AOL download)

Any ideas (other than the XP recovery CD that came with
the PC)? Can I uninstall and then re-install Windows
Explorer?

Any help will be gratefully received !

If you have a problem shortly after installing a new
program it could be that the problem is caused by
installing the new program. Why don't you try
uninstalling it (McAfee) and see if the problem goes away.

Hard drives are cheap. I have an extra one that I make an
IMAGE to (using GHOST) before installing ANY new program,
even the Windows Updates. It takes about 15 minutes to
make the image and gives one the ability to go back in
time . . . and it works EVERY time, unlike the built-in
utility in XP (System Restore).
