Windows Explorer Malfunction - Going Black

Hi - I'm having an issue with Windows Explorer. I've been working on
organizing files and to do this I have 3 Explorer windows open at once so I
can see files in different locations and for ease of access and to make it
generally easier. I also have two other programs open at the same time.
Things are ok for a while but then I run into a problem. Sometimes part or
all of the explorer window will go black and when I try to minimize it and
bring it back up it doesn't help. I will move my mouse around and sometimes
it restores part of it but not always. Also, it messes up the task bar. The
names of the folders that I have open will move over to display in the quick
launch area instead of to the right of it and the area near the clock gets
mixed up too. Moving the mouse over the quick launch area will fix a little
of that area but not all of it. I wind up restarting the computer and
opening everything that I'm using and am ok for a while again. Any ideas?
Thanks.

It would be hard to guess till you look at what might be causing that. Are
you running out of disk space? Does your Display Adapter have a working
driver?

Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) in control panel/admin tools may have errors
listed. When you rightclick a Command Prompt icon on the start menu, you can
'run as administrator' and run the command :

perfmon /rel

Hi - Thanks for responding. I'm not running out of disk space. I'm pretty
sure that things are ok with my display adapter and it's driver. I looked at
event viewer but nothing there makes any sense to me. I don't know how to
tell if something there is a problem that would have caused my problem.
