I have just recently exprienced a problem where whenever I go to open or even
click to get details on a media file, windows explorer comes up with an error
and shuts down. If I try to open the media file through windows media player,
the media player comes up with an error and shuts down. The strange thing is
that about 10% of media files on my computer actually work no problems. I
have tried changing media player to Realplayer and done a full virus and
spyware scan. The only thing that I can think of is that the installation of
windows updates may have affected it. Below are the details of the error:

Any help would be really appreciated as it is getting quiet frustrating. I
think that it may also be affecting windows messenger.
