When I am on-line, about every minute & a half, an error message pops up about Win Explorer needing to close. The tech info for the error log/report indicates that the faulting module is crtdll.dll, the address is 0x000115ce, the file included is C:\DOCUME~1\Z-MAN\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERxxx.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt; the "xxx" in WER.tmp... is variable each time the message generates - B1, 101, etc. After closing the message, the Windows Desktop refreshes, & the web page temporarily freezes. The only thing I can get out of the Knowledge Base is that a repair installation of XP is required - but Dell tells me that the only disks available are those that include SP1 (my OS was pre-installed) & they're not compatible since my OS wasn't originally installed with SP1 (I d/l'ed SP1 from Microsoft). Am I right that a repair installation is the only fix? Help
