I run Windows XP Home. When I access Windows Explorer
directly or Open or Save from other applications, Explorer
at some random point, just closes with no warning. I just
restart the process and have another go.
I've run Anti-Viruses, Adware, etc. but all is OK.
Is it possible to re-install Windows Explorer only from
the XP Disc?

Look in the event viewer, in case some errors were logged.
If nothing seems helpful, try SFC /SCANNOW .
This command will check the integrity of all protected files
and restore any that are bad.
