Windows Explorer Folder View shows Control Panel

The checkbox in Tools..Folder Options..View for Show Control Panel in My
Computer does not clear the display of Control Panel in the left pane listing
showing drives n My Computer. I don't think Control panel was showing there
a while back but now I notice it and doint Reset to Defaults has no affect.

Any ideas why this shows now?

I don't want it removed from the Start Menu. My question referred to the
display of Control Panel in Windows Explorer folder listing under My Computer.
