Windows Explorer Encounter problem

Hello,

Within the last week or so, when I boot up (XP Home
Edition), shortly after I load up my first program I get
an error message that Windows Explorer has encountered a
problem and will need to close. Then the desktop
refreshes itself and restores itself and everything runs
fine. This is a minor irritation now, but I have no idea
what it means and how to fix it.

I have recently downloaded all the latest critical
updates and numerous other patches and fixes from the MS
site.

Any ideas?
