windows explorer crash when viewing jpegs

When I open Windows Explorer - not Internet Explorer,
just the program to view my computer's files - if I open
a folder that contains jpegs, windows explorer crashes
and I get a message saying, "Windows Explorer has
encountered a problem and has had to close." How can I
stop this from happening? I can't access my jpegs!

Do you happen to have Adobe PhotoShop or
Elements installed?

If you do...right click on a .jpg file and choose
Properties. Click the Photoshop Image tab
and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails" button,
then click OK.
