Windows Explorer column defaults

I use a 1280X1025 LCD display.
When I open Windows Explorer to move/copy files, I open it in Detail view.
But the column defaults are too narrow. I have to drag the column edges so I
can fully read a file name or File Type.

It sure would be nice if it would remember my previous size settings.
Anyway to do this?

Drag the window to the size that you want it, then, holding down the Ctrl key close that window by clicking on the X in the top right hand corner. Close, then re-open WE - it should have retained the size.
