Windows Explorer - Change startup folder

When I start the explorer it always opens in the same folder. Usually a
subfolder within the 'Documents and settings' folder on the C-drive.
Isn't there a way to change this? I use several disk drives for various
purposes, and would prefer the Explorer to startup with all the drives shown
collapsed so I don't need to scroll down from start.
I try to avoid putting files etc. in the 'Documents and settings' folder
whenever I can, because it tends to fill up the C-drive rapidly.
Therefore it would be nice if the Explorer startup view could be changed
(permanently) at the user's own will... Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks

Try using TweakUI and change what the First Icon is hown on Desktop. The
options are My Documents or My Computer. Chose My Computer.

Edit the shortcut's "Target" to read;

%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
