windows don`t always open full

I bought another computer with processor speed of 1.6 GHz, memory-1
GB,but when I turn the computer on my windows open small. I can drag
my small windows to their maximized length and width, but when I turn
the computer off, then on again, the windows are minimized again.
Anyone have any suggestions how I could get the windows to open full
and stay that way?

Hi

After you have dragging the window to the size you want it, have you closed
that window via File>Close/Exit?

Yes I close the window but after I turn the off then on again it
opened again. And too I accidently dragged the "show desktop" icon
from the quick launch in the taskbar out in the desktop-now when I
drag it back, it pops right back where it was.

I find that, in the majority of tries, closing a "dragged out" window using
the menu brought up by clicking on the icon in upper-left corner, then
clicking on Close there preserves the size.
