windows doesnt work

windows xp. it comes up with a black screen before the
loading screen saying "Windows could not find
C:/Windows/System/" it may be missing or curupt. You can
repair this by using the original cd and pressing "R" on
the first screen. but what is the first screen?? Please

It means you are missing your Windows System files and you will need to do a
repair install.
