Windows Doesn't Shut Down/Restart

For some reason, windows doesn't do anything when I request it to either
shutdown or restart. I believe that this only happens when my computer
comes back up from hibernation or when my screen turns off from no
use...and then on again. I'm pretty sure that's when it happens. I
don't have any virus/adware/spyware on my computer, because I just
rescanned it for all of those.

I hope someone can help...I don't think that taking my battery off to
turn of the computer is that good for it.

Hope someone can help. Thanks!

You might want to disable the power options in control panel. Go into
control panel and set all the shutdown functions in power options to
never. Then shut the hibernation off and then reboot.
See if that works. I found that a lot of the systems get funky when the
power options are set to do a lot of different things.
