Windows does not see my Network card.

I recently installed pen partner. After installing it I couldn't get online.
So I went to check my network connections and the file was empty. I then
went to Device Manager, looked up network adapters. It show the device is
there and working fine. Went back to control panel in XP then to network
connections and it does not show the adapter. I then removed the adapter
from the computer, restarted then shut it down and re installed the adapter
and rebooted thinking it would find the adapter and re install it. It still
does not pick it up. I even went and bought another adapter. When I
installed the pen partner, could it have changed the address of something? I
uninstalled the pen partner because it didn't work neither.

Its got to be something i'm missing.

you might have to go into cmos and see if you need to enable the network and
or the pci slot it is in......

Thanks for the reply. This motherboard has an integrated netcard. I went
and bought another card to install in the pci slot. I also went into CMOS to
make sure everything was turned on which they were. If the PCI slots weren'
turned on or the network card, why would it show up in the device manager as
being there and working with no problem. Like I said it was working fine
before I installed that program. I'm thinking maybe it has something to do
with the IRQ number or com port because when I installed the program it
popped up saying that it was going to com port 1 which it wasn't. It was
suppose to go to com Port 3. It also has screwed up my system restore. I
tryed to restore it several times to earlier dates and it won't do it.
Thanks for the help.
