XP and my ethernet cxonnection

I had to reformat and re-install my XP sp2 on my desktop...generic computer.
Device Manager shows Network adapters: 1394 Net adapter, that's all...but
right under this it lists Other devices: Ethernet controller "Yellow ?"
which says, when clicked on, Drivers for this device are not installed
(code 28)....I don't have a disk for this, nor do I have any drivers.....
My broadband connects just fine on my laptop. Any help would be most
appreciated.

You need to install chipset & other hw drivers from the various manfactures
sites
eg motherboard site or PC site if major OEM eg Dell/HP etc
The drivers disks should have been supplied with your origonal system or
hardware.
Do NOT use winupdate for drivers

Thank you, that was it. I found it on my motherboard disk (never occurred to
me it would be there)
