Ron

suddenly when I put in a cod or DVD, nothing happens. go to windows explorer
and select the drive and it says please insert disk. I have a firewire
external drive, and that works great, but not the D or E drives in the
tower.
I went to device mgr. and it says both drives are OK?

sure would appreciate some help,
Thanks
Ron

Something probably stomped on your upperfilters and/or lowerfilters... Try
the automated fix from Doug Knox prior to the manual fix please.

You are just jealous because the voices only talk to me !

As mentioned in the forum... I've not SEEN a hot fix specifically for it. I
find it alarming that the upperfilters weren't listed but the lowerfilters
were. Have you tried doing a restore to before this happened? I hate to
recommend the next step but... IF it absolutely comes to it?
