I have Windows Defender. When I tried to download the latest update - nothing
work any more in the DEFENDER program.
Now - I ´can`t remove Defender and the program will not run at all. The fall
is 0x800106ba - and the Installer tell me that " the feature yor are trying
to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"
So no Defender is running - and Defender can`t be removed.

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administratºr.
This is the key!
The installation as an admin is not enough.
You needed to login as an adm!n.

Can you gº to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority updates),
and apply all offered updªtes

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature update
with windows defender will fail until you hªve these f!les.

When you were downloading it did you get a message that said you had to
update to GDI+?

What is the version of Windows Defender? Please go to Help, about, and post
the top most of the three version numbers there.

Thank`s for your respons.

I`m the administator and it`s XP Home Edition.

If I try to, uninstall, reinstall, or just open the Defender program I got
the message:
"The Path WindowsDefender(1)msi - cannot be found".
And I can`t find this path anywhere - ! Or in anyway come back to the program.
