Windows Defender Won't Start ??

Win2KproSP4.. Uninstalled and reinstalled "WindowsDefender.msi
(4/29/06)", with same results when PC starts: Error (X) "Application
failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused Windows Defender to
start...."... All of the latest Windows Updates have been installed
except the update for Windows Defender 1.14.1950.9 (KB915597) will not
install; every time I use the Windows Update it "downloads" and says
"installed", but Defender still won't start????....

I have two win2k PC's Defender runs fine on one, not the other - so I
uninstalled it on this one
I assume you are aware later versions of Defender do not run under win2k
