Windows Defender not Defending and taking forever doing it!

Hi:

I'm new to this site and just the other day downloaded the newest version of
Windows Anti-Spyware, Windows Defender.

I am not pleased with this new version at all. First of all I understand
that it takes a longer time to scan larger harddrives than smaller ones but
why it takes two hours to scan a 160GB harddrive is just beyond comprehension!

Another major problem is this, when Defender finally does finish scanning
and alerts me to the fact that I have some spyware onboard it I am unable to
get rid of it, the reason being that there was some kind of error during the
so-called removal ie applying process. To add insult to injury then it has
the NERVE to suggest that I download the latest updates when I already know I
have the latest ones because this same situation has happened repeatedly!

I have download both Ad-aware and SpyBlaster and they have helped but as
many of you have said various programs don't always pick up all the spyware.
Ad-aware found the most and I was able to get rid of those. SpyBlaster is
also helpful with preventing new installments and if they are install you
have the option of disabling them which is nice but I would prefer to have
them removed altogether. Unfortunately, there are still those spyware
additions that Defender alerted me about that I can't seem to get rid of:

1. Marketscore Relevant Knowledge
2. Bearshare (crazy because although I have it on my secondary drive I
didn't install it)
3. WhenU SaveNow
4. NewDotNet
5. Webhancer
6. Marketscore Internet Accelerator

I really hope Windows Defender gets better in the future but right now I
have to say I am VERY disappointed with it's performance or lack thereof!!!

Cookies are not dangerous and Windows Defender does not check them.
