Windows Defender error 0X8024400A

I have been using WD for one week . It worked ok in teh first two days. Since
then, when I try to update it or scan my computer, an error mesage appears
reffering to
0X8024400A. I tried everything that is recommended in this forum, but it's
still not working. I am not behind a proxy and my firewall (Zone Alarm) is
configured to allow WD to do what it needs to.
I look forward to getting a solution.

Start, run,

regsvr32 MSXML3.DLL

and hit enter.

thanks for the answer but it didn't work out. Still the same mesage appears.
i must add that I unistalled and reinstalled WD with no success.
I'll wait for another solution.

Please go to Windows Update and see if you are offered Windows Defender
signature updates.

If you are, please apply them.

You may also need to go through the process from this KB article, due to the
uninstall/reinstall:
