dam yellow shield popped up

BTW. Thanks for the HU but already got it thru my `yellow shield`. Where
would we be without it?

Actually Stu,

I hate the little shield.
I always turn it OFF when I'm Expecting updates,
and ON when I'm NOT.

Does that make sense?
I know on Tuesdays and Thursdays that MS is going to update Defender. I
would rather get the download directly from Engels link when possible and
install it myself.

I Know on Patch Tuesday that MS is going to release updates so I would
rather go to to Windows Update and download them after I confirm what they
are [and after manually downloading and installing bandwidth wasters like the
monthly tool which I can download directly at work and install from my flash
drive].

It's when I'm NOT expecting an update that I turn AU notifications ON, so
that if there is an unexpected or emergency update I can be informed, though
to tell you the truth that has rarely happened thanks to this site and COU.

As far as the .sig file is concerned,
Once you've installed Vista you have Much More to Worry about than Satanic
Voices

[Just a joke folks, I'm sure Vista will be fine by the time I need to buy a
new computer, hopefully it will be at Delta2 (SP2) by that point]

Actually Tim - it makes very good sense if it suits your updating habits. I
have often thought of doing that myself but my problem is. I seem to go thru
phases from being organised to disorganised in this respect so I go with the
safer option - the little yellow shield and COU in periodic massive doses.
Meanwhile, I might add, my comp is either switched off or offline.

As for Vista. To be quite honest, I have never even taken a look at it -
just the odd screen shot on the Internet. My notebook doesn`t have the
hardware to run it successfully (or at all come to think of it), and I`m
certainly not in the market for the expense of a new computer and software. I
have become too familiar and attached with both my notebook and XP for my
personal needs. May it continue for as long as poss.

If you set a Vista disk in the CD tray upside down,
you can hear SATANIC VOICES!
But that isn't the worst,
if you set it the right way IT INSTALLS VISTA!
