Windows Defender - Cant Uninstall or reinstall

I have been unable to uninstall Win Def as the uninstaller hangs. as per
posts here, I downloaded Beta 2, turned off all AV, but the installer hangs
the same way. Is there a way to remove it piece by piece, and then remove
entries from the registry?

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administratºr.
This is the key!
The installation as an admin is not enough.
You needed to login as an adm!n.

Thanks, but I am logged in as administrator in all cases...any other
suggestions?

I'm always in Administrator log-in. Any other way of removing? I don't mind
doing it piece by piece if I'm sure i'm getting all the files and reg
entries.?
