remove Defender from control panel, would not uninstall. When trying to
reinstall Defender another error generated " you must remove installed
version first". Started PC in safe mode and tried removing Windows Defender
entries from registry. Some entries would not remove. Restarted in normal
mode.Tried to reinstall Defender again but error occured again. PLEASE HELP
as

Hi there,

I typed in uninstall in the search for box but there was not much help in
the questions others had written. I had to remove defender because it
incounted an error with the sacnning. I uninstalled then tried to reinstall
then encounted the error saying you must remove installed version first. Ive
done all I no on how to remove a program completely (control panel, registry
entries, program files etc) but still didnt remove the entire program. Any
other suggestions would be gladly appreciated. (Dont wont to have to rebuild
the machine just for Windows Defender)

Because I couldnt remove all the entries for Windows Defender out of the
registry. I used regseeker, very good registry cleaner. No I dont belive so.
This problem occured on one of our clients machines and we were unable to
reinstall Defender. We spoke to a Microsoft technician and he refered us to
here. Just trying to find a fix then we can go and try to repair it.
