Hi,
While booing my PC it says that my windows is corrupted. It gives me options of numbers to call, it also tells me to feed in a deactivation code.

I have tried to repair the windows even in safe mode but it wont open. Please advise me.
Thanks
Berni.

Please post the error message your are receiving exactly as it appears on your computer.

Windows does not ask for a "de"-activation code. Windows requires activation of the software in order for it to function properly.

Is this a legit copy of Windows? You should have a COA sticker somewhere on your machine or packaging that gives you the information needed to activate Windows.

Booing your machine won't help, even if it's performance has been poor.

Windows won't ask for a deactivation code but it will prompt you for an activation code if it suspects an iffy copy.

I know, I know, sometimes I can't help myself.

As the surfing fella asked, more details please.

what you can do is go to Windows Update and download the Validation tool to check if XP is legit :)
