Windows could not start

Sounds like your hard drive is corrupt. I had a similar
problem and had to get it replaced.

-----Original Message-----
Windows could not start because file "Windows
root>system32\hal.dll " is missing or corrupt.

Hi Jeff,

I tried extracting a copy of Hal.dll from the XP CD but that didnt
resolve the issue. I still got "Hal.dll missing" during Startup. The
last resort was to reinstall the Operating System. The Hard drive was
tested and there were no problems.
