Try running an Antivirus scan on your system.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

If that does not work, try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.

Are you talking about multiple TABS inside an Internet Explorer WINDOW?
Is this only an issue in Internet Explorer?
If so, it's possible you may not understand the concept of tabs in IE7.
To close an individual tab in IE7, click on the X on that tab (not the X at
the top right of the IE7 window and not the File >Exit dropdown menu).
Also, you can right-click on the open tab and tell IE7 to close all of the
tabs except for the one that's open on your screen.
Does that help at all?

BTW, I don't think your earlier message was deleted. How are you reading
this newsgroup? Through Windows Mail.

I know of three causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Internet Explorer Settings. See this
article first:
How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES):

3. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus,
whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

You might also try the steps here:

Thanks all...certified pleb here, i'll look in to what you all wrote and have
a go...again, thanks for all your help..yep not deleted..just moved...again
thxs.
